Summerlin was master-planned and developed by The Howard Hughes Corporation. It is a popular residential area in the Las Vegas Valley of Southern Nevada. It has sprawling homes with views that overlook Red Rock Canyon or the Spring Mountains out west while within city limits to all amenities down east like schools and shopping centers. The nearby cities surrounding Summerlin include Spring Valley, Blue Diamond, Las Vegas, and Paradise.
The community of Summerlin is a city that occupies 22,500 acres. The 2010 census reported the population at nearly 100,000 people (59,000 in 2000). There are many different land uses in this area, including residential and commercial areas and recreational facilities like parks or schools.
Spring and fall are dominated by mild to warm days, with occasional surges of hot temperatures. In March alone, there is a rapid increase in temperature as it warms up from the winter chill within two weeks. Temperatures remain comfortable until October, when they begin to rapidly decrease again towards November where mornings have started feeling crisp.
Summerlin in Las Vegas is a great place to visit. There are many attractions here, including the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, High Roller (a Ferris wheel), The Strip with Fountains of Bellagio, and Eiffel Tower viewing deck at Paris Hotel & Casino. A must-see is also the World Famous Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens.
