The Las Vegas metropolitan area includes part of Summerlin, Nevada, at the foot of Spring Mountain Range. It was built by the Howard Hughes Corporation in 1990 and conceived as an open master-planned community.

The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is located near the city of Summerlin, Nevada. It has a population of about 126,729 (in 2014), and it's one major town in this state. The Calico Hills are part of the conservation area that spans 516 square miles with incredible views for visitors to enjoy.

The Summerlin region is a 22,500-acre property with 150 communities and villages. It has nine golf courses, three country clubs, over 100 parks, and shopping malls and businesses.

Places to Visit

Downtown Summerlin is a popular tourist attraction, thanks to the top-rated restaurants, premium shopping, and entertainment. In addition to free outdoor music events, movies in the park, food trucks, and Christmas celebrations held here every year!

The Gardens on Southern Highlands (19 stores), South Pointe Pavilions (24 shops), the Summit at Southern Highlands (28 stores), and Gallery at South Shore with 32 shops are Nevada's largest malls.

The Wet'n'Wild Waterworld in Las Vegas is a highly popular waterpark. The major attractions of this park include a seven-acre wave pool with two million gallons of water, tube rides, water slides, and child-friendly activities.

The Spring Mountains National Recreation Area is home to the historic ranch buildings and herds of wild horses at The Nature Conservancy's Bonnie Springs Preserve and their own state park: Spring Mountain Ranch State Park.
